Look at it this way, Slick.

One of Intel's design teams knocked out Mendocino AND DIXON before AMD could get the Sharp Eye out the door.

The design teams are big but clearly they were managed well and they PRODUCED !

And let us not underestimate the importance of getting those two chips from concept, to design to simulation to verification to layout to FAB to test to Silicon Verification to packaging to reliability to customers to motherboards to a store near you.

Add that up and what do you have?

1. Record Profits for Intel.

2. AMD facing a steep LOSS !
