After step 3, you will get a dual boot of NT/98 WHENEVER YOU BOOT FROM IDE2 with the bios. This is true whether NT is installed in its own partition or in the same partition as Win98. When the bios is set to boot IDE1, nothing will have changed.

Is the IDE 1 dual boot setup during the NT install process? What if NT is not installed? What if NT is cloned from IDE 1?

If NT were cloned into a separate primary in lieu of an install would IDE 2 still dual boot?

What if Win98 were in a FAT32 primary and NT in an NTFS primary..would IDE 2 still dual boot?

re:IDE 2 w98 and NT in separate or same pp (primary partition)

THE DRIVE LETTER OF THE NT PARTITION WILL CHANGE EVERY
TIME YOU CHANGE THE DISK CONFIGURATION.

Well, I just read this post from you.(It was addressed to zp and I can't keep up with all posts any longer, to my regret, and also, almost to my undoing)

This is the straw that tipped the scales. You really started convincing me last nite by pointing out the non BIOS related dependences I would be adding by signing another contract with PM. Now I come across these possible drive letter problems that I want no part of.

So my DD is finished on this issue. I will start loading a fresh install of NT in the same partion as w98.

BTW I saw that 2002 crack as well<g> I guess I needed to come across your post before I continued on. You yourself said to only do something when you know why your doing it ( or some such). Now I know...so now I do..

Really looking forward to see how you setup your new machines
