At least it guarantees someone will read this!

Seriously, the Baedecker I read was "The Hippy-Dippy, Homeless and Hell's Angel's Guide to Bad Ass Burger Joints." It was subtitled "We wuz stoned when we made this so be careful, some of the joints might have been people's barbeques we raided."

There was another guide. "The Travelling Salesman's Guide to the Cheapest Best Meals with low Ptomaine Potential" That was a boon.

Taxi drives should know as they eat most of their meals on the road. but you have to find one of your general culture which is difficult in our larger cities.

After I left Kenora (Good places!) I had to hunt and hunt to find a good meal on the_ evil_blacktop_that_crosses_the_ plains, the trans Canada. Saskatoon has one "good" restuarant that serves, I believe, reheated Swanson TV frozen dinners. Most other places if you ask people about a good restuarant they look away and mumble something or they say "Gee I don't know, it depends on what you like.." (an obvious cop out.. what they mean is, if you like food you are out of luck..)

Winnipeg has one good place.. the Goreway Inn.. 3rd floor..
