Liquidity is the key to the market. If the Japanese move money out, a big chunk of liquidity will be missing. Expectation of a rise is a key. Why go long if the upside potential just isn't there? The public may still believe that stocks double every six months but sooner or later they will see the writing on the wall and start paying off the credit cards they used to borrow the money that they put into the market. The crash is waiting to happen, it just needs a push.
