Qwest Signs $42 Million Contract With St. Andrews Telecommunications
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 1999--Qwest Communications International Inc. today announced it has been awarded a $42 million, three- year communications services contract from St. Andrews Telecommunications, LLC previously known as Card Services of St. Andrews. I agree with you. He did not reduce his holdings. Just made it easier to acquire or merged easier from a tax and merging of interests possibility.

I do not think it favors either acquiring or being acquired. Just makes it easier for either.

I obviously don't know what the exact motives were. Sometimes two good outcomes occur with the same action. Back last summer I had heard from a colleague at a large investment bank that Anschutz was going to diversify his holdings. Who knows - diversification or to allow pooling of interest - which was the more important reason. I didn't see the info on his putting it into a trust so you could be right on. Don't think it matters much, the company is plowing ahead and doing well.
