The cost of communications will be coming down.

While I have been waiting for the DD sector to recover, I have been dabbing in communications and I found encouraging news. Qwest will be completing a new national fiber link in July that will be 9 times AT&T's current capacity. Within another year Level 3 and other companies will be completing more fiber links that will result in 80 times the current AT&T capacity. New IP (internet protocol)technology will also greatly increase the capacity of new fiber lines. The glut of capacity will speed internet connections and drive communication prices down considerably. The lower price should make many new technologies (such as multimedia) more practical and increase world wide data transfer.

Hopefully, the world will need to store this increased data we will all be receiving.<g>
