No problem... a company has outstanding shares and floating shares. Outstanding are ALL the shares in the company, including those that are "locked up" with managers, and owned by original founders, etc. Floating are all those shares that CAN trade (not locked up or restricted shares). The float is what matters when trading on heavy volume.
