Davesd -- I've posted on this before -- in fact, I tried to put up a single post that had the basic information on WAVX's competitors -- but I'll be damned if I can find where I wrote down the post number. As a starting place, check out WAVX's annual report under the heading "Competitors" -- there's a pretty good outline of all the possible areas from which competition should come. A lot of them are software based, some of them are dongles. None of them have WAVX's patents. If I can find my original post, I'll link to it. But that's a good place to start.

I found the links -- they're a bit outdated by now, but they're not too dissimilar from the current report. One of these links also contains a link to an old but still very interesting Steven Sprague post on the subject. By the way, I don't think a discussion of WAVX's competitors is taboo at all -- rather, it's essential to understanding our investment.
