PLAB is also testing equipment from Leica. They indicated in their last conference call that they consider these machines experimental and not ready for production. The believe that they may ultimately have advantages ETEC equipment for certain specialized applications, but that ETEC equipment will be used for the bulk of their production. MASK is not likely to spend big bucks for limited use equipment. In any case the falling stock price of UTEK and rising price of ETEC indicates that the UTEK equipment may not be all that promising. I2 - MASK does not plan on using UTEK equipment - went with another maker due to the fact that they thought that the other equipment was further down the road. I can't recall his exact explanation but it is in the interview at audioinvestor.com The good news is that MASK is selling at a PE of 10 versus 30 for PLAB and DPMI, yet the return on equity is 50% higher than those companies. If you own MASK, or are thinking of adding it, the interview with the CEO is worth listening to. I came away positive from our discussion FWIW, and like the company.
