Tero,

Considering that the ETSI UTRA W-CDMA proposal was so incomplete and unfinished when it was delivered. Considering that it specifies an inferior asynchronous signaling method on the forward link. Considering that it specifies the use of concatenated Reed-Solomon/convolutional coding instead of more state of the art Turbo coding. You'll just have to take my word for it..... I could go on and on hehehehe. Don't take my word, read the ITU proposals!

Tero, you're dreaming when you think that W-CDMA has been in development for a long time or that a lot of money has been spent on it. I've asked you before to have someone whom you consider to be qualified and impartial to read and compare ETSI UTRA W-CDMA and CDMA-2000. Then judge which one is pioneering and which one represents a response.

Tero, the details are in the proposals. You don't do a lot of the things you see in the ETSI UTRA W-CDMA proposal unless you are trying to be different and incompatible with IS-95. Otherwise you wouldn't specify techniques that offer inferior performance. You don't propose a lot of other things they proposed unless you lack experience with CDMA. Get an impartial judge and have them compare.

There is truth Tero. There are a group of companies who are designing and producing and installing CDMA equipment around the world and have been doing it for years. There is another group of companies who haven't been doing that. But they want you to believe otherwise. How intelligent are you? How far are you willing to dig to find out the truth?

Read the ITU proposals!! It's kind of where the rubber meets the road. Where the cards are face up on the table. Where there is no rhetoric, no bull, just the technology. Have you read these little islands of revealing information yet? I have!! The evidence of years of development and millions of dollars spent on the development of ETSI UTRA W-CDMA is just not there. In fact the opposite is shown there. Hell, read the Japan ARIB W-CDMA proposal. It is obvious a lot more thought and work has gone into their proposal.

Saying that there have been articles written going back to the 1980s or even patents doesn't do a thing for me. Tero, go for the center of gravity....go directly to the product of their efforts, you can read and compare the ITU submissions. You won't get it until you do. Why do you talk about these things when you haven't read the proposals? What do you really know about the truth?

Regards

Walt
