Low volume today: I'm watching the open interest on the Feb. $7.50 call options. The options expire Feb. 19, 9 days after TAVA trades on the earnings release. Between earnings release and Feb. 19, if volume remains low, I expect an attempt to take TAVA down to melt the premium out of the options. Then the specialists who are short the open call options (assume they sold them quite a while ago at higher premiums) can buy back the options at a handsome profit and let the stock pop back up. However, if the earnings release is well-received, and volume picks up, the open calls could help fuel a price pop to the upside.
