FaxSav Granted Patent for Method of Authenticating
Email Sender's Identity

Edison, NJ--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 1999--FaxSav (NASDAQ NM: FAXX - news), the New Jersey-based global leader in
Internet Fax, has been granted a United States patent for electronic ''stamps'' that enhance the security of Internet messages by
validating the sender's identity.

The patent was granted in January 1999 to two FaxSav development engineers, James C. Kaufeld and Matthew B. Stone. The
invention of an electronic ''stamp'', consisting of six internationally universal characters, authenticates the identity of the originator
of an email or Internet Fax and validates their right to access an account.

''Protecting one's identity is of paramount concern to anyone conducting commerce on the Internet today,'' said Thomas F.
Murawski, FaxSav's President and Chief Executive Officer, ''This rational fear may stymie the anticipated growth of many online
businesses. We are pleased that the U.S. Patent Office has publicly recognized that ''stamp'' technology can contribute to the
protection of one's electronic identity.''

The stamp technology was originally created to authenticate whether email or faxes were originated by authorized customers of
FaxSav's email-based fax delivery system, known as FaxMailer. FaxMailer enables any email account to deliver a document to a
fax machine by assigning each fax machine an email address.

''We created an affordable and simple way to thwart electronic fraud,'' stated Kaufeld, FaxSav's Vice President of Engineering.
''By inserting a clear-text code or stamp known only to the sender, into the body of a message, we confirm the sender's identity.
With the stamp, the transmission goes through. Without it - it doesn't. ''

FaxSav is the global leader in Internet Fax, an emerging industry recently forecasted by the Dataquest/Gartner Group to grow from
44 million pages carried in 1997 to 5.6 billion pages by the year 2001. FaxSav provides enterprise-wide fax solutions to business
customers in 150 countries worldwide, helping them fax more easily, efficiently, and economically. Contact FaxSav at
