You know, the secret is the one line you said. "over a number of years." That is the real key, and is also the real problem. Its easy for newbies like me that have only a double, and the ones that have been in it since 94 that have a 10 banger, to look at it now and say how great its been. But only a few months ago it was lanquishing in the 20's, and if I am not mistaken it took a pretty good beating getting there. You have to be willing to hold on and even accumulate. Its harder to do than to say, at least for me.

more SiGe comments

I am also interested in SiGe and believe there is plenty of room in the communications market to accomodate another player, albeit a direct competitor to VTSS. I like AMCC for this. They have licensed the SiGe technology from IBM and I believe they have plans to build their own dedicated fab for SiGe in the near future. The main reason I like AMCC for this technology is that they will be addressing the "high-end" market, not the "jellybean" market like the TQNTs and ANADs et al.

I took a modest position with AMCC (similar to the one I took with VTSS in 94) to "hedge" this technology. SiGe already has proven advantages for "jellybean" products ... the risk, IMHO, is to take it to the high-end market (like what VTSS did to GaAs)

I trully expect this to be my second 10+ bagger

good luck

p.s. thanks for the book ref. i will definitely look into it.
