But the example does nothing to dent the others point about the relative severity of the underlying crimes, and therefore the context in which the lying, etc. occurred. All of us think that lying is okay in certain circumstances (for example, when you are spying for your country), or is not so bad in others (as when you hide an illness from your children). So they are right, context matters, although I agree with you that the context cuts against the President in several ways.
