About giving up 50%....I believe Lucent just gave up almost 50% when it dropped from $108 (Aug '98) to $57 (Oct 7, '98)...does it have to do it again four months later? Anonymous

Ha! Ha! I see nothing wrong with CSCO's stock price at $100. Back in Aug of 1998 when CSCO announced its stock split at $68.7 ( or 103 before a 3:2 adjustment) , it has been 6 months when it hit $101 of today, and the appreciation is 47% with economy grew 5% last quarter, and Microsoft's earning grew by more than 70%. This only tell me we have a very strong season on PC sales, and all the new pcs need to be connected. With Asia start to recover and start buying again, I only see the economy will continue to be strong, and CSCO's earning continue to grow. The recent dip is only because the big boys want your shares cheap, and it is a good show. The weak hands thought this is the end of the world. Besides , I do not think the hair cut will be 50% of its recent gains since Aug of 1998. The economy is strong, and no recession on the horizon, the rate is maintained at a low level, Asia is recovering, and the sky is not falling. So, do not be fooled by these big boys . Next week, business as usual. You will see these so called analysts change their tunes on CNBC. They are really manipulating the stock market !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
