americans appear oblivious because they ARE oblivious...it would take a war fought here on U.S. soil to change that.

Hi Jon; *ot* Re > Americans appear oblivious to the calculated murderous greed of its own government. Why is that?
I don't know why it appears that way to you, well
maybe partially I do. But on a relative basis I think Americans
speak out and protest that type action more than any other
country in the world. That many people don't see it , until
it gets extreme is a sort of universal condition that
I see in most nations.
--------------
I saw the movie but thought it was a sallow contrived bit of
flag waving with some crumbs tossed in for the other side.
I don't recall much of it.
If you want a study of human nature and war try to watch
the PBS documentary of "The 50 Year War", and watch it more
than once, take some notes..look at the changes over time,
see who played devils advocate, keeping in mind that a larger
picture of the Communism vs Capitalism cold war also
played a role in the middle east problems.
--------------
While we have tons of problems, we also have done a lot of
good in the world. When you look at the many many ethnic
groups in the U.S. naturally the discord can be unsettling
and fault found at every concern, but keep in mind taht if
some of the holyer than thou nations had this type of
melting pot they would have completely devoured one another
long ago.
And back to the 50 yr war, also note how many Arabs were
killed by other Arabs in attempts to dictate how to resolve
the conflict. ( it's almost as many or maybe more than were killed
on both sides buy the war itself. )
