Tony was just confirming that the V3 is not the next generation chip that the "3" in its name would imply. It's a shrunk, sped-up Banshee with an extra TMU. That makes it a great chip for OEMs and the cost-concious, NOT the hard-core gamers. The GREAT news from this article is that we'll be getting some hard info on "Rampage" in the E3 timeframe (May 12th).

I agree that Tony's comments shouldn't be splashed throughout the general consumer market, but I'm glad he was frank and open during that interview. I trust Tony more than anyone else at TDFX to tell us exactly what's coming.
