George,

Rodriguez of Venezuela has already indicated that they would favor further cuts at next months meeting if other exporters would come into compliance with current production ceilings. The biggest impediment to an agreement is IRAN. Perhaps Saddam may be persuaded to use his Kuwait strategy on IRAN. You know, SET 'EM on fire. Ha!

Rodriguez/Minister of Energy: "As well as promising to abide strictly by the existing agreement, which lasts until June, Rodriguez has said producers should consider additional cuts as a means of getting prices up.

However, OPEC officials say Iran's failure to implement the production cuts agreed last year are a significant obstacle to any further action by the cartel. Iran argues OPEC gave it a mistakenly low benchmark production from which to cut. : "

<<oil prices have fallen too low for even US>>

I.... basically, disagree..
Russians now are accusing directly US in inducing the crisis as a final step in subduing their country. Here, in US, the same WAS and is argued by "New Federalist". Too long story.. but the scheme supposedly was to dismantle and destroy its industry with the help of IMF as "inefficent", leaving only the row material export oriented parts of it, but primarily oil. Then to knock down the prices of the oil and to force them to surrender totally and to yield its oil industry to, primarily, American companies. This goal is not achieved yet..

George: Well at least one oil producer has a brain -

This courtesy of the yahoo PDE thread.

I think we should all get together a collection and buy our Arab/Persian friends a copy of The Wizard of Oz. If the Scarecrow part fits; wear it!

"If I only had a brain......"

Under the Sharia, what is the penalty for theft? Maybe some Saudi princes will soon qualify for the Arabians with Disabilities Act.

Just more random musings from the slaughter pen.

<<If OPEC were following the Iraq policy of cutting production and hiking prices, OSX would be closer to 200 than 50.>>

George,

is this Iraq policy or you are stealing somehow my thoughts?
If you do, it is OK; I am unpretentious, very modest..
But if it is Iraq policy, it would be nice to describe it in detail.
Would you, please?? Then maybe e-mail the stuff to Chavez...
