Part of the reason you flounder in your values abyss is you don't see a basic reality. Principles are foundational to an effective and self directed life. <<fundamentalists might have won>> People who know and practice the fundamentals of effective living always "win" in the bigger picture of a good life lived. Then, of course there is the real "long run," you know. Some of us do give thought to eternity. I wouldn't try it if I were you. Rather a frightening thought for the crud who live in deceit.
