Aerogel - A NASA Development For The Next Century Not really off-topic, as this has major impact on future oil imports and hence, the gold / oil price relationship. I have been aware of Aerogel for a while, but I hadn't realized how much progress was being made. This development has the potential to drastically reduce oil imports for heating purposes in the next century. science.nasa.gov In addition to super-insulation, it promises extremely fast computer chips within a few years. Fascinating read.
