XYLN has decent fundies. I'm sure you can look up the numbers, which are decent (profit margin of 11%, low pe, blah blah blah).

NN and XYLN products don't really play in the same space though you might find isolated examples where they could. I do not see any correlation between NN's announcement and XYLN's outlook.

XYLN has a good niche that can keep them alive for some time going forward. But eventually they will need to do something drastic to sustain growth (get bought, product shift, whatever).

I'm not a big fan of their senior management and I don't think that there is anyone has a "big" vision, but they have some very talented people in marketing and engineering.
