HG, my understanding, PCI slots are WHITE, 486 generally have short black slot (ISA) long black slots(VLB). Crack the cover, no WHITE, no PCI. Correct me someone?

>>card fits in a PCI slot. How can I tell if my [486] computer has
this slot.

Chances are nearly 100% that you have no PCI slots if you
have a 486 cpu. If you have to ask, the answer is you don't
have one. 99.99%

PCI slot is shorter than an ISA slot (which you surely
have) with much smaller pins. PCI cards have components
on the bottom (as you look at them mounted in the case)
whereas your other cards will have components on the top.
If you see nothing that fits this description, you don't have
any.
