Stitch;

Peace.

Really, I read your comments and respect them because they fill an important gap in my knowledge. Your right about my reason for investing in Seagate however, I was aware then, as now of the market forces acting upon the stock, as with most stocks. However, each specialist group has its own character and behaves a little differently. They too, are responding to the market forces acting upon them and stocks they handle. Microsoft may not act the same as Disney, for instance. That is why it has been a subject of intensive study for me.

Specialists are not my adversaries. After all, they are doing what they do to make a profit. However, I do recognize their importance as a major market force. Perhaps, the most important and immediate, single market force other than demand. That recognition and its implications, with regard to price, is what I write about. To me, as an investor, price is the most fundamental of all things in any stock. After all, Seagate does not write you or me a paycheck or even pay a dividend. We invest to make a profit too and boiling it down, that is the only reason to invest and take the risk that goes with it.

I joined this BB, in order, to find guys like you. People who could help me become more knowledgeable about the company, the industry and help me to form some realistic expectations. I knew I would be married to SEG for a long time. Charts and TA aren't everything. In that respect I was not disappointed. I've learned a great deal. However, I bring something to the table too and I think, I've demonstrated that it is valuable as a bankable asset. It is my research and my knowledge, also gained over many years, of market forces. I am not always right but I have gotten to a point where I am right more often, than not.

You may be surprised to learn that I have never expected acceptance. I always expected resistance to my train of thought. I've always expected that I would have to prove myself and my case, over time and that the best way to do it was in dollars and cents, profits! I also agree with you that the combined knowledge on this BB should give us all some advantages. Sometimes, I ask myself the question, am I doing all this just to hear myself speak? But the answer I get is that it forces me to check and recheck my results thus keeping me sharp. I don't need to pontificate but I do need to stay, as sharp as, possible. I was very pleased to read some recognition in your remarks and that is why I responded. Thank you and good night.

Has the Fundamentals thread passed? Has it out-lived its usefulness?
