Neocon, I thought Linda Tripp always loathed the Clintons. As opposed to hating them or despising them, that is. Do you think she ever had the least interest in real friendship with Ms. Lewinsky? "I am you!" Or is there some indication that Jones' lawyers sought her out, and not vice versa?

Tripp appears to be part of an elaborate scheme to entrap Clinton using Lewinsky, and once the deed was done, Starr took over from there. I think she deserves to be abandoned by the Republicans and made to face the music on her own. I heard that she is trying to collect money for her defense fund now. She will face charges of illegally recording the phone conversations with Lewinsky. It will be a wonderful Year 2000 "gift" if she ends up in the slammer by the end of the year.
