Kash,

AMD needs to get ahead in the speed/volume curve. It's that simple

There is no chance of that happening before K7.

Kash,

Re: "If they can (and I still believe they can) then AMD will go up 10x
from where it's at right now."

Sure Kash, Sure ... I'm sure AMD is going to be ahead on Mhz by mid-year. <ggg>
You and the other "AMD Chumps" still can't see the "forest" for the "trees".
Lose some more money, Kash ... You seem to do this well.

Make It So,
Yousef

Kash - RE: "If AMD executes they have 2 mega fabs that by end of 99 should be able to produce around 10-15M K-3's/qtr."

I am pretty sure AMD has stated FAB 30 will make K7s and FAB 25 will be the sole supplier of the K6-3 and also some K7s.

Everything AMD has is dependent on the K7. (The same was said about the K6 and although there were a few hiccups initially, everything was fine until the mask problem set in.)If Dresden comes online without any hiccups, AMD will be set for the new millenium. If not - Who wants to wait for the K8? Not I.

<Intel is simply playing good business by taking advantage of AMD's screw-ups>
Good business? Give me a break!
Intel is methodically playing the ace high
where four out of five aces were stolen
from Digital revolutionary discovery of
super-pipelined design rules. With all
implications about speed over performance.
You seem to understand very little in CPU
business if you think of K6 as "screw-ups",
especially if you alluding to 0.18um.
Have you ever listen to the recent AMD CC?

Yes, it's that simple: Intel is a thief.
It gave them huge advantage in MHz. AMD
has to catch up, but it is possible only
with the totally new design, K7.
Until then the stock will be volatile.
Even after that there will be problems
until the thief will run out of stolen
ideas (it seems they already are), and
burst apart by themselves with dead meat
like Merced or whatever... just wait.
