laura, When I began subscribing to @Home last fall, they installed the cable modem as well as the ethernet card into my computer for me at the time they hooked me up. The cable modem is the ONLY way to go if you have that option available to you. There is no comparison, and you are always online, just turn on the computer and open a browser and poof there you are. I too am using the intellimouse (w/Win '98), and have no problems with it at all. If you are using Win '95, there may be a driver problem, but just guessing, MT
