ZD Info: NEW YORK, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Ziff-Davis Inc (NYSE:ZD - news). , the No. 2 U.S. computer magazine publisher, will spin off about 15 to 20 percent of its ZDNet online business to the public by early March and sees the Internet as one of its fastest areas of growth, Chief Financial Officer Tim O'Brien said Friday. ZD will present at Goldman Sachs Technology Investment Symposium on 2/11 Thurs., 3:45 PM, Grand Hyatt Hotel, New York City. They would drum-beat the ZDNet IPO due early 3/99. We might see some upward price movement as a result. Anyone volunteers to post a Synopsis of the presentation ? ZD will still hold 85% of ZDNet after IPO. I expect a similar pattern for ZD when ZDNet goes IPO in the first week of 3/99. ZD is one of the few Internet co., that actuall makes money, excluding charge, in Q4'98. Do your own research always.

TheStreet.com did a good article on ZD, you should read it, might go back a few weeks, I don't know if they archive stuff. cheers rr
