They're still sitting on a big cash position, right - the proceeds of those debentures, they still have most of it? They haven't made the dream investments in Cuba that were in the plan. You know, I thought when Jorge Más Canosa died and the tide of americano opinion began to turn that Delaney would be able to make some deals. But I think now that Castro has to die first.

Do you know that Sherritt isn't permitted to pay its employees directly - they pay Castro and then he gives the workers whatever he wants. Which tends to be a small fraction of what s pays. I wouldn't want him for a partner, personally. Cuba needs another revolucion. Castro won't change, he's stuck in the 50s. And that's likely what's in investors' minds when they look at the stock - what happens if the next regime doesn't want to do business with Castro's old partners.

Cubanos have never known democracy, coming changes will not necessarily be a orderly evolution into a parliamentary tradition in the British manner. Property rights won't necessarily be respected, especially when you consider that there are still US companies campaigning for the return of the assets for which they bribed Batista.

I still have the few I bought in one account for 7.00 in '96. Still don't know why I did that, should have known better. Well, nickel looked quite good at the time, that was one reason. Those debentures might be a fair deal [69, not 61] - chart.canada-stockwatch.com - but there does exist the risk of default if cubanos decide to start over with fresh gringos.

Followed your bio over to Renata - i have a little of that from the ity takeover, they gave it as the change when they upped the offer a bit. Bought a little more since, again not sure why -g-

Have you ever looked at dy, Dynatec - it was spun off from Sherritt, seems to have the respect of en - there's a thread - #Subject-20100 - i'd buy more if i had the cash.

Westaim was spun off s before dy - #Subject-14943 - then ted from wed [no thread yet]

You'll hear mixed opinions on Delaney, not everybody likes him, but nobody calls him stupid. He gets along with Castro, for what that's worth ...... I'll likely just hang on to the s i have through stubbornness, and call it 'patience' -g- ...... cheers ..... marcos
