Sure, no problem... If you want to learn all you can about the evolution of Fibre Channel, and the pioneer and leading fibre channel switch provider, go the the ANCR thread here on SI.

There are only about 21,000 post starting from 3 years ago. After you go throught that thread, you will know more than most, and recognize a potentionally once in a lifetime investment opportunity...

Good luck.

Mark, OX5 is a very early water cooled airplane engine (in the Curtis Jenny) a very reliable engine for it's day...

Fibre Channel is a new technology you need to learn about. It has advantages in Input/output over other technologies such as SCSI.

It can run over fiber or copper.

It is being used to build Storage Area Networks (SANs)

Qlogic is a leader in FC adapters, and has an OEM relationship with IBM. Competition includes Emulex. Check out their profile on SI and 10K.

Mark[ox5],

Try the white paper at this link:

marketplace.unisys.com

It is a good current summary of the fibre channel standard.

Hello Mark,

Though old, here is a pretty good FAQ page for a definition and overview:

elew.com

To bring you up to speed on current developments:

techweb.com

My opinion, QLGC is here to stay, the Adaptec of Fibre Channel.

Good luck,

Douglas
