wow! thanks! There's definitely some short squeezes going on...I don't have high-fidelity historic charts of the 30-year bond...but kahunas definitely show up on the anniversary of the October 90 high in bond yield..this year would be an echo of 1989 ten-year bonds maturing...if anybody has a link to quality historic charts, I'd sure like to see them.

well...I just found the charts on Ed Yardeni's site...
the trail of tears from the yen-carry trade is written in the charts...in 1989 the Nikkei went almost vertically up to 39,000, much like the nas has done...the huge surplus of money created by the inflated Nikkei was probably dumped into 10-year 9% U.S. treasury bonds...and it all has to be redeemed this year..
