Gary O-- running the same 8 scans on the entire db- took about 19.5 minutes. I use a 233 mhz pentium laptop. However- I find it makes more sense for me to run a pre-scan once a week on the entire group and then run my scans nightly on the "selected profile of stocks". Thus only 1 minute 20 seconds.

I fully recognize your truths about simplicity. Makes sense to me. The nice thing about a democracy is that each of us can pick and choose what suits us best.

thanks

Gotta second you on the scan times Andy. I run 3 profile scans per night via Automate and have reduced the wait times thus:

#1 from 25 minutes to 15 (added a scan also)
#2 from 30 minutes to 12
#3 from 25 minutes to 13

These are not exact times for the scans... added a couple minutes extra to make sure they get done before the next batch kicks in. But overall the times have been cut in half.

Also using 166MHz....

Pruned more time off the whole works with the stochRSI scans since I don't have to run the SuperCharts scanner any more which added 30 minutes for each sRSI scan I did. I have noticed though that the database update time has increased after dl... but I'm not complaining <g>.
