Have you noticed that the growth rates for both
companies from 1997 to 1998 wasn't "barn-burning".
Not really impressive, BUT ALTR was $30 five-six
months ago and hit $70 recently. Same type of action
for XLNX and tech stocks in general.

That tells you one thing. Researching the company
is fine, but looking at too many specifics
is a waste of time.. really.. It only satisfies the
person buying the stock.

Mild research and trying to predict the overall market
seems to be a better approach and the market will
take good stocks down and up, as you see from the
$30 - $70 stock range.. That was due to the market,
the the measly 4% - %5 growth from 1997 - 1998..
