I trade a lot of stocks -- but this is one (of only four) I hold in my pension plan. Buy and hold. No trading. Period. No doubt they have to stay ahead of the curve. Who doesn't? But they are uniquely positioned to benefit from the coming broadband upgrade cycle. I am writing this mostly so that people down the road can see I was extremely bullish on this company way back when. Is Real Networks a take out target? I don't know. But I sort of hope not. At least not yet. ;) Good luck.

to me real is like owning broadcast.com and netscape
in other words, a broadcast network and a software company
and i think i mentioned to mark johnson (ifc newsletter) that aol was the natural born buyer of real

if not aol then aol is missing a chance to own the multimedia internet space, combining real with icq, netscape, compuserve, aol.com and aol online service

if not aol then i think @home should acquire real
that would be a coup for @home and a blow to aol
