Actually, I came at it from the angle of a guy whose loyalty to the group makes him oppose someone many people regard as a hero, so I wasn't even thinking of the "innuendo". Certainly I might have been, but then, if plausible inferences were enough to convict, we wouldn't have trials, would we?
As for how the more general comparison of Capone and Clinton got started, I believe the answer is simple--- many people believe he is guilty of worse things than this perjury and obstruction, but this is the only thing that could be taken to court, just as Capone was gotten on tax evasion.

Hey Danny boy. You sign your tax returns and swear that they are accurate under the pains and penalties of perjury. Your signature is your verification that the information contained therein is true, accurate and complete. It IS perjury to file a false tax return along with other included offenses. JLA

BTW, just as filing a false affidavit would constitute perjury. Or verifying that a false affidavit was correct.
