AOL Interested in Buying Chancellor Media, Inside Radio Says

Dulles, Virginia, Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- America Online Inc. is interested in buying Chancellor
Media Corp. to expand its online offerings to radio, Inside Radio reported, citing unnamed
industry executives. If AOL makes an offer for Chancellor, the No. 1 owner of U.S. radio
stations that Clear Channel Communications Inc. is interested in buying, it could spark a
bidding war for the company. AOL could pay as much as $20 billion for Chancellor, or about
$72.50 per share, the trade publication said.

AOL, the No. 1 online service which agreed this week to buy MovieFone Inc. for about $388
million, declined to comment on whether it's seeking to buy Chancellor. (Inside Radio 2/5)
