Investors Business Daily has an interesting story on page A4 of the 2/8/99 edition on Sugen (SUGN). Seems like (to a layman anyway) they are into the many of the same areas as IMCL (cancer, angiogenesis, ok not exactly like); only SUGN's projects seem to be more diversified and behind (in terms of the level of trials) that of IMCL's. So why is SUGN trading at $17 while IMCL is under $11? Richard Van Den Broek from H & Q was quoted in the IBD article - therefore i assume H & Q follows - maybe the difference in price is better explained by analyst coverage than the science.

Hi Gang,

Thanks Brian for the link. What you describe with ISIP could be just basic typical biotech growing pains. I do hope to see ISIP succeed. The world needs newer novel discoveries which can lead to the treatment of disease and such.

Marty I agree sometimes an analyst's opinion can make all the difference with a stock. That and well formulated PR. Tuck makes a few good points too which need be considered when comparing shareprices.

By the way tuck thanks for the compliment. I'll admit I am not familiar with NZYM. I am however somewhat more familiar with LGND. I have followed LGND for some time. In fact I have targeted LGND on several occasions as an undervalued play. In so doing I have come to know Henry casually. I have admired Henry's enthusiasm and efforts over the years. I have visited both LGND threads and have learned considerably from Henry's posts. So if I haven't said so in the past. Thanks Henry for your candid answers to any questions I have had in the past.
