PuddleGlum,
Thanks for posting the ProTA formulas. I have been using this program for a couple of years and bought ProTA Gold when it first came out. Mostly because of the low price and Gold Language.

Started out on my slow Mac but have updated to a 266 G3 with 160MB. It draws charts about as fast as I can click the enter key.

I am using Dial-Data and have had very few problems. I hope more people post with Gold formulas, this is a great tool.
Thanks, Joe

Puddle, Thankyou, for the database scans. This is what I hoped this thread would become, an interchange of ideas and formulas that most of us Mac users can implement. I look forward to checking out your scans. Being a software engineer, I imagine you are able to pick up the Gold language quite quickly.

For what it's worth, I'll post my favorite indicator. This is not a custom indicator but a combination of two that are built in. On a separate pane, I plot an 8,13,34 moving average (simple, closes). On the same pane I superimpose a William's A/D. My primary indicator is the A/D, looking for a higher high and a higher low for a buy, and a lower low, and a lower high for a sell. I also look at crossings of the MA by the A/D for confirmation. The A/D crossing the 8 MA is a good sell signal if I'm long. The interplay of the A/D doesn't work with all stocks but I find it works with most, especially trending stocks.
