WirelessKnowledge to work with General
Magic

DENVER—WirelessKnowledge L.L.C., the joint venture between
Microsoft Corp. and Qualcomm Inc., said it will announce at Wireless '99
this week significant additions to its recently introduced Revolv service.

‘‘The main highlight is that WirelessKnowledge is starting to work with
MSNBC,'' said Tom Clarkson, III, vice president of sales and marketing
at the company. ‘‘They will supply all headline news to the Revolv
service.''

Additionally, Clarkson said WirelessKnowledge will be working in
partnership with General Magic Inc. to add voice-recognition technology
and services to the Revolv offering. General Magic uses its proprietary
magicTalk voice-recognition technology as well as a text-to-speech
system in its Portico virtual assistant service.

The Revolv service provides remote access to e-mail, calendars, contact
lists and information content via the Internet, as well as access to
Microsoft Exchange-based corporate networks from a variety of wireless
devices—such as browser-equipped phones, pagers and Windows CE
plamtop computers.

The network connection is provided by WirelessKnowledge's Network
Operating Center.
