I know, those darn taxes make the decision to sell difficult. Its sad that the decision on selling or purchasing are often influenced by tax considerations and not on the basis of the companies themselves. Maybe Steve Forbes has a point.

Nice research report from BancBostonRS today (2/8/99) on the communication device segment of the semi industry. Here's a quote: " Our advice to investors in this space bears little change as we are not known to be traders. Stay with successful "broadening" plays through thick and thin. Our leading picks here remain PCMS and VTSS, with AMCC as an emerging participant in the theme. By "broadening" plays, we mean companies that are effectively expanding their opportunity sets horrizontally into new communcations markets." This report is terrific. Etrade users can probably get this online. I got a hard copy from a friend who trades with Etrade.
