Zeev....if you believe in RMBSstandard theory of "WHEN" will it take hold not "IF" it will be adopted.

Rmbs didn't get this far along the way to becoming a standard without
the backing of INTC and major investment from the memory makers..

I think you will see the next upgrade coming well in advance...
assuming that the memory makers will have to make major investments to any other standard.

IMO this is not like Iomega or something that can easily be replaced
in several months, it takes several years to establish and get sponsorship and buyin from the memory makers....that's why the ramp up time isn't going to kick in till late 1999 /2000 and INTC started the push for a new standard well in advance of the need.

Also as a virtual company that does not take on the risk of making the product itself allows it to keep the expenses low and increase it's profits.

The dream is that they branchout into other ventures as they grow earnings over the next few years.

No one has 20/20 vision except Monday morning quarterbacks.

But I think the RMBS standard is well along the path of being implemented with INTC support. There is less risk inbuying RMBS now vrs last year.

The only short term risk is that rampup start slower than expected

That will only create a bargin to accumulate RMBS at a lower price than today short term.. IMO

Zeev,

Great post. I immediately thought of Commodore as well-- how about CIEN recently with the promise of their DWDM technology.

I hope all our perma-bulls are right, but nothing is a sure thing!
