I believe that the preferred shares are in US dollars.

If it was that easy there would be no preferreds available. The price is in US $ and the dividend is in US$.
$2.80 * 1.49 =$4.17 Cdn. = $1.04 per share
I think par value is US $2.50 but I will confirm that on Monday.
