Nicholas...didn't mean to blow you off. For me, every FA is a little different depending on the company's business. I've collected dozens of articles describing such FA scanning criteria from successful analysts. Some day I'll actually get down to condensing their criteria into a list that I'm comfortable with.

If you're lookIng to sort through 2,000 - 4,000 stocks, you may want to use the relative strength rankings found in Investor's Business Daily.

I do look at the float, institutional/insider holdings, revenue trends, ad nauseum. If you're looking to thin the ranks for movers, you should also be scanning on volume changes over 3-10 day periods.
