Mama, you're fine in this scenario unless you use the extra credit released due to the overnight hold. If you never hold more than $20K at a time, you should be fine...

When you are daytrading the DELL after the overnite hold you are allowed to exceed your Reg T buying power on the daytrades of DELL. That's fine. However if you end up with a net loss on the daytrades of DELL at the end of the day you will get a rule 2520 margin call for the amount you lost.

do you trade using waterhouse's webBroker?

if so, i have a hell of an unnerving experience i'd be happy to share with you. you might find the "heads up" helpful.
