apr, the technological progress led to increased supply (didn't have to, but it did...) which caused this problem. you have the horse a good mile behind the cart. last try and it was short ;-)

actually, i'd argue that excessive access to cheap money caused over investment which led to excessive supply relative to demand. when this was realized the investment was curtailed, people lost their jobs and demand was stifled making matters worse...

but hey, we disagree...

you still haven't answered why micron made technological advances that lowered costs and still raised dram prices... can't answer it? your paradigm break down or something? mine doesn't...
