You must have a broker that understands making quick trades and wants this type of customer. I use a Merrill Lynch broker that I have known for many years and is in another state from me. He has an assistant that is able to take and place orders. One of them is always in the office and it is rare that I cannot speak to one of them within a few minutes.

Yes, they cost more, but I also get executions at better prices than the limit prices that I set on a regular basis. Also, I have never felt that I was cheated by setting a market order, which I rarely do. I regularly get 1/8 better that I think that I will get. I have used discounters and make all of my own investment decisions, but I have always gone back to ML.

My latest example is TLTG. I placed my order at the ask of $1.12 and got an execution at $1.06. The $600 savings on stock price covers the higher commission on many occasions.

Gook luck this week.

Take a look at TRCD, Tricord Systems. Rod Canion, one of the people that began Compaq, was the principal participant in a private offering in December 1998. Since then, a couple of former CPQ marketing executives joined TRCD.

The company is apparently tight lipped about the timing of their upcoming software marketing efforts, but it cannot be too far away if they are now hiring the marketing people.

Also, and this is pure rumor, is that Canion has told a golfing buddy that the plan is to run the stock, legitimately by releasing information on their new software and promoting its future growth potential, to approximately 15, split at that point and then let it keep running up. The time table that I was told was 90 days for the 15 price target.

The thread on this stock does not provide much information. Look at the news releases since December.

Forgive me for sticking my nose in, but I also use a full service broker. First because I am fairly new and second because I have had the same kinds of successes(on a much smaller scale). Being west coaster, I call my broker at his home before market opens, if I have positions to buy or sell or watch. We discuss plans for the day and his schedule he keeps an eye on the stock, as I also do. Hey, still may try an online account someday, but our buy & sells are executed very timely. Suspect Online is better for most pros but have never had the problem of systems down, lines jambed etc. Also, call corporate customer service to buy/sell. Again sorry to jump in here but there are plus and minus's to both sides. Sure hope I can get in on this stock Monday, just stumbled on your thread this am. Rgds
