Excuse me, but this is not a sentence that makes any sense to me. This looks like a resume' for an engineer who lists all the buzzwords just to look good. I'm not sure about the rest of the message either.

ADI and Intel: I think this is more a + for ADI than Intel. Intel has much greater IC fab technology than anything ADI has on the prod. floor. They can really crank out the high tech parts. Intel needs to expand beyond the CPU area to garner the kind of revenue that they are used to. DSP tech is HOT and is expanding into more product areas everyday -- cable modems, xDSL, noise cancellation, motor control ...
TI had no comment on the JV, but I bet they are not very happy with it. As far as, why not a buyout? Not sure about that, maybe the little matter of a possible Justice Dpt suit, ala Microsoft, is looming in the wings. It would seem to be a good purchase by Intel.
