marion,

Well said. When will the music stop? Just like the title of this thread. I think that the first quarter revenue figure might be a disappointment. In the fourth quarter, they had about $75 million in revenue, which included about $10 million of "e-commerce" stuff. Also, every page had a banner. If you flipped through the chat pages, literally every page had an ad. I think they ran some kind of promo, because on January 1, 1999, the pages looked like a ghost town. It took me 20 pages to find an ad. I am not sure how they will do well in the first quarter, other than putting out some garbled pro forma combined Geocities bullshit. "Including this, excluding that, assuming this but not that, we really had a great quarter" said Tim Koogle, Chariman and CEO of the withering company. "We suffered somewhat due to our focus on making the merger of the century best for our shareholders and our customers". "And by the way, thanks again to our main shareholder, Softbank, for giving us that little extra that we needed to make the quarter"

Guru.

I disagree Yahoo is the king of the internet. Think about it -- ask most people what search engine they use Yahoo is the most common answer. Ask someone who never use a computer before-they still heard of Yahoo!! The real potential for revenue is advertising, not individual sales. Other co. make their money on individual sales, but the quick and low cost way is thru advertisement. Look at TV -- not saying that selling products will not generate cash--but which is easier . Their revenue is based in advertisement and not selling anything. Even if U don't click on a banner -- just the glance of it already promoted a product-- again like TV. So advertisers can win either way. Big potential in the future. Myself I think the price is high-- but the future looks bright. This stock good take a dramatic drop one day--but it will bounce back since the outlook for $$$ is very high.

marion well,
i'm happy that you can have your
one put wonder
day in the sun,
i'm happy you can spend your energies,
to work yourself in to a frenzy,
and create the momentum brainwaves,
to entice the world to sell,
i'm glad you have that power,
i'm glad someone has that power,
that reinstills faith,
that i had in the world,
which i honestly lost,
that someone has that kind of power,
i knew someone had to get a handle on
all of this good,
i'm sure someone had to get a handle,
on talking this stuff down,
i'm sure glad someone is powerful enough,
i would love for yahoo to take a big dip,
i would slobber all over myself....
i am glad you have found the important
things to focus on in this world...
