Excellent question and you summed up my first concern very nicely. That is one reason PAIR won't be taken over. Second reason...if this were really true, the professionals would have bid this stock up days before us amateurs heard the news. They always know first.

That is entirely true.
A new CEO wants to make a mark first, not buyout first --most times.

That is why I say PAIR is value not some imminent play like CIEN.
It may go on like this (takeover rumor,etc) all year. and the fundamentals will deteriorate for a while longer, but the buyout comes at anytime.

I am neutral PAIR for now but want to be long for that moment, only I may miss it. it would not be the first stock I shied from on takeover talk.

The last one was Ciena at $65. Gee I am so POed I missed that no brainer.

That's pretty much what happened to Tandem Computers. They brought in Roel Pieper. He was around long enough to work the deal with Compaq; then got a substantial package.
