calling me rich is laughable. I work 70-100 hours a week and am far from rich. I started with $1000 three years ago(after saving for a year to get that amount)at etrade(the only place that would give me an account I might add)I am significantly above that amount now but am by no means rich. Anyone who trades on etrade should expect anything. What do you expect for $20. Go to ameritrade or datec and see if you can do better. Is that actual money you lost or just possible money you could have gotten had you been able to trade? If you made a trade and there was a problem you should file an inquiry. They are generally very fair(not every time)and with the outages the last few days they granted every one of my trade inquirys without question. However if you just "lost" money because of the inability to trade than you didnt really loose money.

It is very possible to get shares of IPO's at etrade everybody has the same chance. It is first come first served
