Keith, I use myTrack for real time stock and option quotes. It's pretty cheap and you can download and use the program for free, with delayed quotes.

Ranking of US discount brokers at this site:

I haven't checked this out very much, they may also rank Canadian brokers. I did notice that E-trade & Waterhouse(Greenline) are rather poor.

<Yes Canadians can trade Canadian stocks through a U.S discount brokerage> Do you know of any US discount brokers allowing Canadian trades to settle in Canadian Dollars? All of the US brokers I have checked with so far seem to think it's ok to charge 5% or more to convert currency on every trade. They must be nuts!
